Serve the People

Having been raised by a single mother on his grandparents’ farm, Roy observed his mom and grandparents serve their family, serve the community, and serve the Church.  This servant heart was instilled in him, and Roy desires to serve the people of Brazos County who will appear in Court before him, should he be elected Judge County Court at Law 2, Brazos County. In his over 34 years as a resident in Brazos County, Roy has served in many different roles and areas of the community. As the incorporator and a founding board member of S.O.S. (Save Our Streets Ministries), a long-time Tiger Club member, guest speaker for local schools, a member of many boards, and through devoted service to his local church, Roy has had the privilege to serve many different people in this community. Through these various experiences, he has seen first-hand the needs in the local community, fueling his passion to put people first.

Serve the Professionals

Having served as a Supreme Court of Texas Briefing Attorney, Roy saw the hard work the Supreme Court of Texas did to serve the law and the professionals before them.  As the Brazos County Bar President (2008-2009), he worked to implement a Judicial  Bar Poll to assist the Judges to know how to best serve the attorneys and professionals that appear before them.  Serving the professionals that appear before the Court with Wisdom, Justice, and Fairness is how he desires to serve the law and the professionals.

Roy’s experience as a Briefing Attorney with the Supreme Court of Texas and a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates gives him the unwavering commitment that the law is to be adhered to according to its original intent.  He is an AV Preeminent Rated Attorney a 5.0 out of 5 which is the highest rating of an attorney for Legal Ability and Ethical Standards by the Judiciary and his Peers since 2016.  This honored rating is one that he continues to work to earn and maintain by serving the law.
